Lewie JPD
Lewie JPD was induced to the world of professional writing at the age of fifteen when he was commissioned to write comedy sketches for NHK TV in Tokyo about the life of an Australian family in the seventies.
Since then he has written for film, TV and magazines while living and working in the US, Japan and Australia.
He has edited and published three underground ’zines since 1991 — Free Spirit, Scripthead and Idle and has contributed to mainstream periodicals such as Black & White, Good Weekend, Independent Film and Arena. He has also written six feature film scripts — one of which, Tokyo Rush, has been optioned in Japan.
His first book, All I’ve Ever Wanted Was What I Know I Can Never Have was published in 2001 and his latest work, karma-rama, now complete, is due for publication in early 2006.
He currently resides in Byron Bay, where he edits his street ’zine, Idle, teaches creative writing workshops and composes haiku by the sea.
